It has been hard to breathe here on the eastern edge of Los Angeles County, and visibility is low at times. Occasionally, tiny flakes of ash fall from the sky.

The humidity here, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration website, is 11%.
Santa Ana winds are a classic aspect of Southern California weather, and
